Masika designs jewellery is handmade by me in London using freshwater pearls, semi-precious stones, beads and sterling silver fixings.

The word Masika has always been close to my heart. It was my grandmother’s name - a lady who always wore fabulous pearls, and who taught me so much about jewellery.

Masika also means 'born in the rainy season' in Swahili. It's a fitting name, as the turquoises, silvers and beautiful reflections caused by water have been one of the main inspirations for all my jewellery. Having spent two months this year exploring Ethiopia and Southern Africa, I've also come to love the rich colours that the rains bring to African soil. And these lush greens, vibrant pinks and deep reds play a big role in my latest collection.
